Remembering the Great Don Cornelius

Inspired by Dick Clark’s American Bandstand, Cornelius created a music television program. Soul Train gave African-American youth a platform to showcase the latest fashion and the hottest dances moves to the hottest music. The uniqueness of Soul Train was the introduction of Black Music to America. New artist such as the late James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin,and Gary Indiana’s very own The Jackson 5 graced the Soul Train stage. As Soul Train grew throughout the years, the show had some appearances by rap artist.

Public Enemy’s Chuck D stated via Twitter: “We didn’t get nationally known until we did ‘Rebel Without a Pause’ on ‘Soul Train’ in 1987,” “We thanked Don forever.”

Don Cornelius, a pioneer who traveled the road less traveled. He created a legacy that has been deeply woven in American Culture. LOVE, PEACE AND SOOOOOOOOOUL Mr. Cornelius.

D’Angelo: One Of The Most Anticipated Artist of 2012….

We have not heard any new official music from D’Angelo since 2000. He left us with a lot to imagine with the Untitled (How Does It Feel) video from his VooDoo CD. We knew he was not a one or two album artist, so when would he return? Fast forward to 2012 and we see D’Angelo is now on a European tour. Could it be he is preparing to tour in the United States soon?

His highly anticipated new CD, JAMES RIVER is expected to be released this year on RCA records. Check out D’Angelo performing “Chicken Grease” in Stockholm below. ***side note: Peep the background singer in the leather..get it girl!***
